Gold medal from the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo for the USSR in ice hockey, awarded to Viktor Shuvalov (1923-2021). Silver (hallmarked 800), gold-plated, 6 cm. In the original green leather case with applied color-enamelled Olympic rings. Included: winner's diploma "VII Giochi Olimpica Winterali Cortina 1956. DIPLOMA Viktor Shuvalov URSS. 1st torneo di Hockey." With the original signature of the IOC President. Every branding. 48 x 38 cm. --Very fine medal, minor gold abrasion on the face of the goddess of victory and on the ice crystal (Condition: A-).
