Gold-plated silver (hallmarked, 925 silver, weight: 100 grams). Manufacturer: Huguenin, 6 cm. Engraved with ""Echantillon" (Sample). --This is Sample from the Huguenin company, presented to the IOC/OC for testing in 1947/48. After the IOC/OC approved this Sample, the medal minting began. This Sample coin is identical to the winner's medals down to the smallest detail and weight. It has similar pieces for the silver and bronze medals, engraved with "Echantillon." There is some minor gold wear along the edges. 41 gold medals were issued! Condition: A-
